Perinatal Mental Health

While motherhood can be beautiful and exciting there is a great deal of trauma, grief, and anxiety that may arise in the process.

I have dedicated my time both professionally and personally to addressing these concerns. Through my training with Postpartum International, Momma Care as well as my work as a NICU social worker I have worked closely with many mothers who have identified their process as one they never expected to deal with or encounter in life.

As a result Maternal Mental Health continues to be a passion in my work. I have dedicated my training to further addressing and understanding the challenges many women face as they embark on their journey to becoming a mother.

The first call is never easy to make but our work together can lead to what I call the “new norm” and I am always honored when given the opportunity to be there for the process.

Check out our Bringing Baby Home Workshop! The program was developed in order to support families during this challenging, transitional time.

If you are considering therapy, consider some of the following benefits when connecting with a professional:

Therapy as a Preventative Tool

Therapy can be a preventive tool when working with with a professional who has an understanding of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and how to best treat them.

A Network of Resources

A network of resources, referrals, and what I like to call to often refer to as “You don’t know what you don’t know”areas.  When seeking support for yourself, your spouse, or additional aspects of the journey to pregnancy there are many routes and paths that can be taken.  Allow my work as a professional in this area to help guide your journey so you can focus on the areas that are most important to you at home.

Creating Personal Space

Creating personal space within yourself while working with a professional to weave through the thoughts, feelings, or anxieties that arise during this period also allows for a greater sense of grounding which leads to feeling more present in all aspects of life.
